NRI students welcome to study in Russia

Council for Foreign Education in Russia (CFER) is addressing the NRIs, according to some the 'golden hen' in the sphere of education in India. The fact that Indian NRIs in addition to paying high fees also need to pay a lump sum amount known as 'donation' got our attention. A widely spread false belief is that all NRIs are millionaires or rich people although a vast majority of NRI families belong to middle class, and for some reason are being obliged to pay huge deposits like $10, 000 - $15,000 per year or donations equal to a princely sum.

We invite students of NRI community of India to study Medicine (MBBS, BDS+MDS & MD Cardiology) in English medium in Russia through Council for Foreign Education in Russia (CFER). Also available are 1 year Internship and 2 years Residency programs for NRI students which are in Russian medium. Most foreign students take them up after completion of the English medium MBBS program because after 6 years they are used to hearing, speaking and interacting in Russian which is not a difficult language.  Russian language is pretty easy, for e.g. chai is tea, arbuz is watermelon and sugar is sakhar; very similar to Sanskrit/Hindi language as Russian is an Indo-European language. There is a one year language course for it. We have thousands of students from India coming in each year.

We welcome the Global Indian Diaspora Foundation, Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FETNA), Telugu Association of North America (TANA), Federation of Gujarati Associations of North America (FOGANA), Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA), Non-Resident Indians Welfare Association (NRIWA), Federation of Kerala Associations of North America (FOKANA) and Federation of Malayalee Association of America (FOMA) and others to contact us, so that we can help their children to study Medicine and Engineering in English in Russia with low fees and without any hassles of entrance tests.

Students with low grades are also accepted. The fees in Russia are way cheaper than what Medical and Engineering colleges in India charge. There are no donations, no ragging, no gender discrimination, the quality of education in par with G7 countries with high standards and good attention is given to modern curriculum and clinical skills missing in Indian, Chinese and other Asian Universities.

Advantages for NRI students wishing to study Medicine in Russia:

We have NRIs from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Scotland, England, USA, Australia, Caribbean, South Africa, Kenya, etc. studying here.

Major Russian Universities have International student clubs and hold frequent activities and functions.

Russians often speak English, German and French so communication is never a problem. Plus, you will also be studying Russian as a subject which will help you communicate with patients (a doctor needs to know the local language!) and manage your daily life with the locals. Lectures and exams are all conducted in English language. Moscow is a European city with Russian colors so it is quite liberal with a great nightlife. You will face no moral police or restrictions like in India. Micro minis and high heels are common here so NRIs from US, CA, AUS, and EU will feel relaxed here. No major cultural adjustments required.

All kinds of foods are available in Russia – you won't lack vegetarian food, spices or halal.
All the hostels have Wi-Fi and they are full of Russian and international students. So, you will be making friends with students from Peru, China, Germany and many other countries, including India, of course! Studying in Russia will give you a global perspective. There are Embassies and cultural centers of many European and New World countries in Moscow where different cultural events are organized nearly on a daily basis. So, you can visit the American cultural center or the British Council one day and the Australian Culture center on the other day to stay in sync.
