Russia as an Option to Study Abroad

By Staff writer

There is not much in-depth information about Russia, its culture and educational capabilities available to those who have never been in this country, yet it will be factually right to say that Russian literature, the high standard of urban infrastructure, elevated educational standards, the nation's scientific capabilities and achievements are the envy of the world. Think of it: Russia sent the first man in space, built the world's deepest underground railway network and the worlds longest above ground railway network, the best and longest working Space Station and other things – these are just a few reasons to consider Russia a good place to begin your academic life.

But even if you are not born a Russian, it is still possible to enjoy the beauty and the sources offered by this country, and that's not that hard to do if you chose to get a Russian education. Council for Foreign Education in Russia (CFER), an organization with an office in St. Petersburg, Russia's Education, Cultural and Scientific capital, has been helping international students for years to come to Russia for undergraduate, graduate and language programs. CFER evaluates facilities of all Russian Universities it partners with, their ability to take international students and compares educational programs offered to help its prospective students select the best one suiting their interest. CFER also ascertains the career opportunities and the facilities offered in the hostels of these Universities. CFER follows a rigorous method in selecting its agents all over Asia, Africa and the Americas.

The quality of education offered in select Russian universities is comparable to the best in the world. The certificate and degree earned from a Russian university is considered as hallmark to further career path especially in the engineering fields of Computer Science, Biomedical Technology, Aeronautics, Oil & Gas or Petroleum Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, etc. And of course traditionally every year we have been receiving many Indian students for Medicine. The Universities CFER works with are institutions known for conducting ground breaking research and inventing new technologies for the cause of human kind.

Due to its flexibility and variety of choice Russian education system continues to remain at the forefront of the undergraduate educational experience. The main benefit of studying in Russia is the flexibility of the undergraduate curriculum (you do not need to choose a major until the second semester of the second year), the low fees, no entrance exams and subsidized accommodation and transport facility. Studying in a Russian University means not only confined to classes and attending lectures or doing experiments in the laboratories, but also having real industry experience. The university colleges and institutions in Russia have collaborations with employers and researchers in different study fields where students can gain real work experience. This gives an edge over others when after University your work life begins.
