Study in Russia

Moscow, Russia

Council for Foreign Education welcomes you to Study in Russia starting from the autumn and spring semester each year!

People have always been fascinated with Russia and for the young studying in Russia be it engineering or the arts is really tempting. This fascination comes from lack of exact knowledge or the true picture as authentic information is very difficult to find and ascertain.  Also, size of Russia is very attractive to people and pride among the local populace. Kissing Poland in the West (which of course the Poles do not like) and shaking hands with Japan in the East. It is huge whether by nature or design.

In Russia education is conducted in big old Universities equipped with huge libraries with a marvelous architecture. Who has not looked in appreciation at the St. Petersburg University or the Moscow State University building?! Most Universities have a long history sometimes more than 200 years old and the staff takes visible pride in it. Conditions for students still have a very long way to go compared to Western Europe and North America and that is due to the form of government and not due to the University officials.

Why Consider Study Abroad in Russia Programs

Undergraduates, graduates and researchers studying in Russia can expect to have uncountable number of experiences in Russia. After all, saying that there is but one Russia to get to know is like saying that every part of America is exactly the same, from California to Montana to Rhode Island or that every Indian state from Haryana to Maharashtra to Tamil Nadu resembles each other. But whether you visit the beautiful imperial (locals prefer cultured and peaceful) city of Saint Petersburg, wandering the same attractive streets that Dostoevsky and Gogol wrote about and marveling at the baroque architecture, or if you spend your time in Moscow, the capital city of this militaristic nation, or see the beautiful oldest city of Russia, Yaroslavl with no tall building at all or the industrial heartland of Tomsk you are guaranteed at least one common experience: An exciting, eye-opening experience participating in a culture different from any you have yet encountered and showing an interplay of the past and the present.

Students naturally incline toward the two biggest, and abovementioned, cities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg because it is more international than others, work opportunities are more, more expats, they are more alive and more modern than any place in Russia. The Universities located here are also more advanced and modern and there are many from which to choose.

In the end, of course, it all comes down to what kind of experience you'd like to have, how risky you are and the choice of whether to attend an big metropolis University, mid-city or small city University is much the same as it is in America or Canada. But the advantage of studying abroad in Russia is plain: You will be attending school in one of the most intricate, beautiful, vital countries in the globe, and as a result, your understanding and perspective of the world and the ways in which it works, the players involved will prepare you for a future in which anything is possible.
